DJ CHICO
It’s been a long journey for DJ Chico from being a kid with a set of cassette decks to being the official DJ for Kingfisher, Fl, and the IPL, playing with Akon, Bob Sinclair, and The Rolling Stones and having his very own radio shows!! Read on and the story shall unfold.
RETROSPECTIVE
It all began for DJ Chico a good 30 years ago when he was just a kid, messing around with some music. He knew then, as he knows now, that it was love at first sight! As a kid in the UK, he had plenty of opportunities to hone his musical talents, beginning at small private parties and getting bigger & better with every event.
In the years that followed he played with musicians and performers — big and small and fell in love with the art of making people dance. If there’s one thing he swears he can do, it is to get anyone or anything to move. For an entire year in the 90’s he played at Swigs, the former Earthquake in Mumbai, and toured with Media companies like Channel V, Bacardi & Smirnoff amongst many others, partying with and playing for large crowds & stars.
When the time came for a challenge, he was all up to it, winning the famed ‘War of the DJs — 2000 & 2001
ARTISTS & PERFORMERS
DJ Chico stopped at nothing thereon, entertaining artists like Rotting Stones, Akon, Eddy Grant, Deep Purple, Enrique Iglesias, Bryan Adams & The Scorpions at their post-show parties.
He has opened and closed for several performers and artists such as Axwell, Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Avicii, Bob Sinclar, Edward Maya, Teddy 0, DJ Judge Jules, DJ Spencer (IvIOS), Eddie Lock, Mika Singh, Jay Sean, Juggy D, Badhshah, Shaan, Hardkaur, Remo Fernandes, Louis Banks, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Shivamani amongst many.
DJ Chico has traveled to Monaco to play for the Opening Fl Party aboard Vijay Mallya’s yacht the Indian Empress, 5 years in a row. This annual party attracts a stunning list of the world’s “Who’s Who” from Hollywood Stars, Business Magnets, Fl Drivers to International Designers.
DJ Chico is a regular in the Mainstage Artist lineup at the Sunburn Events hosted in Goa & Pune over the last couple of years.
FASHION
As for fashion, it’s his forte. He swears there is nothing as satisfying as seeing beautiful people sashaying down an aisle to his tunes. The Smirnoff International Fashion Awards, The Kingfisher Derby Show, Lee, Wrangler, SF Jeans Co, Reebok, Arvind Mills, Accenture, IBM, Intel, Goldman Sachs, Spice, Young Presidents Organization, GE, Airtel, Westside, Tanishq, Hemant Trevedi, Abraham Er Thakur, Savio Jon, Rahul Dev Shetty, Namrata G, Prasad Bidapa, IVirmalEr Sarita Mandhot, Anita Dongre and Shonali & Ishmaii are just some of the names that swear by him!
Working basically as a freelance professional, Chico has worked extensively with the hotel industry with brands such as The Leela Hotels, Taj Group Of Hotels, Oberoi Group of Hotels, and Sheraton Groups of Hotels, and Angasana Hotels along with several clubs in multiple cities across the world.

INTERNATIONAL
He has had the privilege to open for Bob Sinclair at the ‘Thanks God I’m A VIP’ party in Paris. He also frequently performs in several countries like South Africa, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Singapore, Thailand, Monaco, Tanzania, Malaysia, Kenya Er the UK for private and club events.
Chico also launched 2 new radio stations for World Space in South Africa at the largest nightclub in Johannesburg ‘Taboo’ and for GE, he toured Sri Lanka for their ‘Asia Pacific Meet’.
DUBAI
As a resident in Dubai from 2008 to 2016, DJ Chico has played extensively for most of the city’s hot spots. He was also the “Go To DJ” for private parties of the Rich & Famous. It’s not just his music, but also his voice that had taken over the airwaves with an extremely popular, record-breaking weekly Radio show on the channel City 1016 (Arabian Radio Network), called Masters of the Mix that played out on Friday Nights between 10 and 12.
It was Dubai’s only reality Radio show and was an on-air War of the DJs, where young aspiring DJs fought for the title of the Master of the Mix.
DJ Chico’s second Radio Show was on Gulf News Broadcasting’s Josh FM called “THE BIG ROOM” which was a 2 Hour weekend club show.
DJ Chico is currently the Brand Ambassador for V-Moda Headphones, Brune, Voga Now & Kingfisher.
